Description

Inspired by the story The Talking Eggs, by Robert D. San Souci is one of my favorite writing activities. My students have enjoyed this creative homework writing assignment throughout the years.

Your students will write an “autobieggraphy” their “eggchange” egg from the country of Eggonia. The students will interpret their visitor’s Eggonese to write a first-person narrative about their egg’s life. They will use recycled materials to provide clothing and shelter for their eggchange egg.

The package includes:

  • a thirteen-page teacher companion with lesson plans for six days, student handouts, and a rubric for grading the journals
  • a five-page decorative companion with two pages that can be combined into a banner for a bulletin board, a picture that can be used to make templates for tracing, and pictures of sample journal covers and houses.
